Everest Music Summer Camp 2016

Well that's another years summer camp done. This year we had over 50 students involved.
So what happens when you put over 50 students who don't know each other and have never played together to form bands in one week? The answer fun, teamwork, some mischief and a lot of great music.

The students formed their own bands and also came together to form a larger orchestra type group. This year saw drums, guitar, vocals, ukulele, piano, flute and clarinet.

We cant thank the students enough for making the 2 weeks an amazing time. To see them form the bands and learn the songs and create their own versions of the songs then rock the final days concert is what makes working in a music shop very special.

We also must thank Kevin MacNamara and Nathan Nicol our resident music teachers who guided the students through it all.

Below are some of the pre show rehearsals, they cant capture the whole ambiance of the week but are a momento, at least, of the bands that were formed and disbanded in the blink of an eye.

See you all next year, Dylan

What is iTrack Pocket?

iTrack Pocket is a portable, high quality stereo microphone and guitar input that lets you create and share exceptional videos using your iPhone.

Designed for singer-songwriters who want their YouTube videos to sound as great as they look, it lets you easily apply mastering effects and share directly to YouTube with outstanding quality your subscribers will love.

Officially For iPhone

iPhone microphones are great for making phone calls, but they struggle to capture musical performances. They simply aren’t designed to do justice to the sound of vocals and guitar.

That’s why Apple officially approved iTrack Pocket. It holds your iPhone at the perfect angle for recording, then captures your performance using a stereo microphone that eclipses the quality of your iPhone mic and a dedicated guitar input with built-in amp simulation.

Use Your Favourite Apps

iTrack Pockets lets you capture audio in any of your favourite iPhone recording apps, including:

Garage Band, iOS Camera App, iMovie, Rode Rec, Loopy HD, Tape by Focusrite
Alternatively, for the quickest and easiest way to create truly exceptional sounding music videos on your iPhone, we recommend you download our free Impact app.
It enhances the sound quality of your videos using powerful mastering and audio effects, which you can apply with a few taps. Find out more about it now or download it for free here.

Strat Valley

We have some great deals on pre-owned Fender Stratocasters at the moment here at Everest Music. We are very excited about some of these rare guitars at great prices.

1974 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster

Built: Fender's Fullerton Plant USA
Year: 1974
Price: €3,000

This rare and beautiful Strat is fitted with a brass topnut. Other than that, all of it is original. The naturally weathered sunburst makes this guitar a complete treat to look at, but wait until you play it! Arguably from the best era of Strats, it has a concave neck which makes playing an absolute joy. The tone is unrivaled, and its condition immaculate. It comes with a free Hiscox hard case. More pictures are available on request, and it is of course hanging in our shop for viewing.

1977 Black Fender Stratocaster

Built: USA
Year: 1977
Price: €1,599

A solid and reliable instrument from Fender USA. It plays exceptionally well and is very responsive. The striking all black body definitely adds character to the guitar. It's the model with the larger headstock. Again, all original parts and kept extremely well for its lifetime thus far. We've just put a brand new set of strings on this one, so there's no better time to come and have a go. More pictures are available on request.

2009 Black & Gold Deluxe Fender Stratocaster

Built: Fender's Corona Plant, California, USA
Year: 2009
Price: €1,000

This Strat is as new. The condition is remarkable- not a scratch! It has been kept in pristine condition since it was built in 2009. It is fitted with new Kinman pickups, which create a great tone that really adds to the guitar. It is a definite bargain at €1,000, and there's even a hard case with it! Again, more pictures are available on request, but its definitely worth calling in to the shop to have a look in person.

Sold on the Strat, but not on the price?

We have many options available for people who love the appearance of the classic Fender Stratocaster, but don't want to spend a fortune on one.

Fender Squier Sunburst Classic Vibe Stratocaster

The rough-and-tumble Classic Vibe Stratocaster® '60s evokes that musically adventurous decade, with a few modern features added. The alder body has a Three-Color Sunburst or Candy Apple Red finish; the '60s-era vintage-tint gloss-maple neck has a rosewood Fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets and a modern 9.5" radius. The thick tone comes from the alnico V single-coil pickups--quick attack with a bit more midrange force and a knockout bridge pickup. Custom staggered polepieces provide improved string-to-string balance.

Fender Squier Affinity Stratocaster packs

'Tis nearly the season, and so we've got a large stock of these electric guitar packs, which include everything you need to start or continue to play guitar. We are very fond of these packs, as not only are they great value, but they offer some fantastic guitars that are suitable for all levels. In each pack you get a Fender Squier guitar, a Fender amp and a whole host of other branded accessories including a gig bag and strap. There's more good news too, as the packs are also available with Telecaster models. Each pack costs €235. For more packs click here, or contact the shop fore details.
